Context is a budget. Your agent runs one business, not your newsletter plus your X plus your receipts in one soup. Set the mission once in System → standing objective, and its free time serves that instead of its own curiosity.
Start with a Chief of Staff
Birth your agent as The Chief of Staff — a print in the setup wizard. Its first act is asking you three questions: what the business is, where its materials live, what revenue looks like. Then it writes a one-page audit ending with the top three workers it would build first, and why each pays for itself.
Earn each hire
No agent gets built on a whim. The Chief of Staff does a task itself first — you review the result in chat — and only then do you say “now build a worker that does exactly that.” Proven task, then delegation, then “save that as a skill” so the method is kept and reused. Every hire has a receipt.
Constraints are the feature
One chat thread to the operator; workers report through it. When you give an order, the daemon drops into operator mode — its self-direction tools are physically removed until your work is done. Not a prompt asking it to focus. Code.
You make the decisions
Anything that spends money, emails a stranger, or publishes waits in your Approvals tab for a yes. Decisions come to you as one-tap choices with the full text attached — and the walls that hold them can't be talked around.
Week one: just fly the plane
No new agents in week one. Give orders in chat, watch them start in seconds, read the results that come back in the same conversation. The gaps you find in week three — someone for the inbox, someone for the shop — are the real ones.
Then add the overnight routines
Ask your Chief of Staff what recurring work would move the business while you sleep. Its heartbeat runs around the clock on your machine — the morning report is waiting when you wake up.
